Message from the 2011 United Way Co-Chairs

Dear McMaster University Community Members,

Each year, faculty, staff, retirees and students have a special opportunity to give back to our community, to help reduce and prevent poverty, strengthen neighbourhoods and support seniors. Just by contributing to the McMaster University United Way workplace campaign, you can make a real difference in the lives of others.

In 2010 our McMaster community gave generously yet again, setting a McMaster record by contributing over $260,000. In 2011 we expect to raise $265,000 with your support. Consider joining the McMaster United Way workplace campaign by giving through payroll deduction/one time donation or through participation in the many special events and initiatives throughout September to December. In 2010, over 218,000 people in our region accessed one or more of the 137 United Way funded programs and services being delivered through 75 community agencies.

Imagine what our workplace campaign could achieve if the members of the McMaster community united with a single purpose: to create possibilities and opportunities for those in our community who need it most. Imagine what a real difference we could make.

With thanks for your support,

Peter Self and Ken Cruikshank
Co-Chairs,
