Why I Volunteer: I volunteer for this committe because I was inpressed with the conference I had attended and wanted to be a part of something which brings positive attitudes and professional growth for myself and fellow employees.

A little bit about me: I have been a volunteer member of the Inspiring From Within committee since 2008 (with a maternity leave breaking up the years a bit). I am currently on the committee planning my third IFW conference. I am also a volunteer member of the DeGroote Joint Health & Safety Committee (also from 2008). 

Why I volunteer: I love the opportunity to network and meet people from all areas of the University. I love to help promote a feeling of community among all the employees through shared experiences and opportunities.

A little bit about me: I work in the Nuclear Reactor as the Manager of Accounting, Administration and IT. I have been at McMaster for 9 years and enjoy working in this unique enviornment.  

Why I volunteer: I volunteer for this committee to broaden my horizons with regard to the different areas of campus that I would not normally deal with in my job at the Nuclear Reactor. I like the interaction with different areas of the University and it allows me to give back to the community at large and meet new people.

Why I volunteer: I think I have attended the IFW conference every year since its creation. The committee always seems to do such a fabulous job in making the day extremely enjoyable for the staff. I love organizing events from beginning to end and it is rewarding to see how a terrific day unfolds after much hard work from the team.
