Pregnancy & Parental Leave
McMaster's Pregnancy & Parental Leave policy is designed to facilitate reasonably flexible arrangements for employees and their families at the time of the birth or adoption of children.

General Notification Procedures
- Employees applying for Pregnancy or Parental Leave must complete a Request For Leave of Absence Form.
- This form must be signed by the employee and the department head and forwarded to the correct Area Human Resources Office for final approval.
- Leaves should start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday coinciding with Employment Insurance pay schedules.
- Pregnancy and Parental leave requests are confirmed in writing by your Area Human Resources office.
Adding your new family member!
Congratulations! Now that you've welcomed a new member into your family be sure to add them to your McMaster benefit plan.
Family additions are made by completing an Extended Health & Dental Positive Enrolment Form and returning the original to your Area Human Resources Office. Please note that this form will replace any previous information; therefore all eligible dependents must be listed.
